Why Apple Needs To Manufacture iPad Mini ? – Google released Nexus 7 at Google I/O 2012; no doubt it is the smaller tablet with amazing features. What we have learned from our past experience with Apple and other Smartphone and tablet manufacturing companies, none of the manufacturers are able to make such amazing yet elegant devices. However, Google has done an amazing job although it is not as amazing as iPad but it is pretty close to that and with this price range, Nexus 7 has become highest selling Android tablet even Google is short of 16 GB model.  Considering these facts many famous blogs such as WSJ, NYT and Bloomberg started posting about the release of the iPad-mini.

Why Apple Needs To Manufacture iPad Mini?

This basic and prime reason behind the manufacturing of iPad mini is the high price of iPad. However, in other reasons, is the size as the smaller iPad can easily can be kept in a purse.

Ryan Jones from Iamconcise has posted a chart about the prices of iOS ecosystem. This chart clearly depicts that why Apple need to release an iPad mini?

The green point on the chart shows the place for iPad mini. Now, the next thing is how Apple will keep users not to move from its ecosystem to Google’s Nexus 7? The answer of this question is pretty complicated. There are three different ways by which apple can do this.

The first scenario is to sell the older hardware with cheap prices. This thing has already been adopted in the iPad and iPhone. Apple is selling older iPad 2 for $399 only. Similarly an iPhone 4 is being sold for $100 while subsidized 3Gs costs only $200 (Off-contract).

This second thing which Apple can do is to get someone else to subsidize the iPad. The last which Apple can do is to release a whole new product line with low price such as iPad mini for a price range between $199 and $249.
